The City of Newell
A Thesis Statement states the main idea of the essay in a complete sentence, not in a question, is usually at the end of the introduction, states an opinion or an attitude on a subject, often lists subtopics, and does not directly announe your maintopic.
The city of Newell is the best place in the area to live because it has a lot of community involvement in activities, it has a low crime rate, and it has a great up to date educational system.
1. The community of Newell really comes together to make a lot of events successful. 2. Over the past few years, I've noticed that not much crime happens in Newell. 3. Newell-Fonda's educational system is up to date and modernized, especially with the laptop initiative in place.
My thesis fits the mold because it has subtopics, could easily be placed at the end of a paragraph, is a complete sentence, doesn't announce my topic directly, states an opinion, and isn't a question.
