Prelude to Kirov--2008
Monday, December 15, 2003 Hello to the Brotherhood! We trust you will all want to know that you have a new brother in Christ in Yalta, Ukraine! Slava Bogu (Praise the Lord.) Eugene (Jenya) came for his third night of study. He has stayed for long studies (3-5 hours) with lots of questions and an humble attitude of acceptance for the authority of the Lord.
This is how our journey to Kirov began. It is one of the posts (edited) from His Mission* and some of the photos for that day. Jenya has been asking us for some time to come to Kirov, Russia where he lives and help teach people the gospel.
New man in Christ.
After he'd been studying with Rick for about two hours this evening, Rick came down to tell us to get the water ready, that Eugene understood that his infant baptism, although by immersion, was not valid for his salvation in the sight of the Lord. As the tub filled, and we made sure the hot water stayed on, we continued to discuss his baptism and related questions. He truly seems to hunger and thirst after righteousness.

After his new birth, we went to the kitchen for soup, tea, and cookies. Then he and Rick went back to study more about the church and his new life in Christ. (I've begun this letter to you as they are studying, hoping that the internet will work so that I can get the news to you quickly.) This young man is from Kirov, Russia & is here temporarily. azw
