Some simple ways to help cure your hiccups!

First of all, let's learn how hiccups happen. Laughing is caused by your diaphram and your lungs acting irregularly. Your diaphram is like a muscle that controls your lungs. When you laugh alot your diaphram connects to your lungs and basicly has spasims. That is what causes hiccups, when your diaphram squeezes your lungs.

This is a very old one,: hold your breath. I don't know why they say to do this but I have a guess. Maybe because it slows your heart rate you have spasims less due to the fact that you have less air going to your brain which slows down your nervous system (remember, this is just a guess). The nervous system controls all of your actions using well, nerves and nuerons.

This is another old one: drink cool water. This may be said because cold constricts the blood veins. As you already know, this means less blood and oxygen to your brain which can slow down your nervous system and help quit the spasims that causes the hiccups in the first place.

This is one I made up: masage your diaphram. I made this one up for two reasons. One, it may detach your diaphram from your lung(s). Two, its relaxes you and slows down your heart rate. As you know slower heart rate slower brain, and holefully less spasims.

This is a crazy one: hold your breath in ice water for 30-60 seconds! This is dual timing all of the other reasons I've already listed. This may follow the hold your breath and drink cold water thearies.

Warning: this may not be completly true. I have thought most of this up.

I don't recomend this one.

i heard another one at school. idk how it works really, i guess it makes u quit thinking about them so they stop. but i've tried it and it works, but mainly when u do it to someone else. u pretend ur getting PB out of a cabinent and getting a spoon and eating it. then put it all back up.
