I went downtown one summer night, when my friends came up to me and had a great idea to go jump in to the Cleopatra hotel swimming pool while a wedding was going on! I loved the idea! We went took off our clothes except of our boxers and planned our exit from the pool area! Once we started running towards the pool we knew that there was no turning back! We turned in and saw the pool in front of us and jumped in! I was the first one to jump in and I jumped the furthest! No one could believe their eyes!! We got out a couple of seconds later and ran back out got our clothes and went to a place where we knew we would not get caught. Adrenaline was sky high!
Mikis and I were walking up the stairs to go the library because we needed the computers. Mikis had two bags on his back, one on each shoulder! As we reached the library Mikis had no idea what went through my mind! He stood in front of the chair and I stood behind the chair thinking of the obvious, to pull the chair back! He didn't go to sit directly in the chair he was falling back slowly and I pulled the chair. From this moment on everything went by in slow motion from my eyes! I could see him falling back, and what makes me really laugh is when I think about what he was thinking when he noticed that there was no chair! His long hair was flying all over the place, and he hit the ground and his legs went flying up! At this moment I remember him telling me: " !" (Im going to kill you). I burst out laughing and I could not stop! I was laughing the whole time we were in the library. Our next class was history with Mr. Simms and there we would meet with Marissa, Sissy and Pantelis and I sat explaining what happened up in the library. I could not go through four words without bursting out laughing. When just then I heard the magic words from Mr. Simms: "Let's take a walk to Mr. Olsen's office". We went to Mr. Olsen's office and he was not there and I was told just to stay in the office until he comes back and explain what happened to the principle. While sitting and waiting I was laughing my head off! Anyone passing by must have thought I was crazy!
EURO 2004! GREECE CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE. The adventure started in Larnaca where our flight was delayed because a bird had flew into the engine! We needed three flights to get to Portugal. They were all connecting flights which meant that the flights in between them were only one hour apart. My father told me, "Let's not go Marco and we are going to miss the next flights", I said "No, since we are here we are going to go". We got on to the plane, and we got to the Athens Airport. There we RAN to our next gate and the doors were closing and we were just on time. We then got to the Madrid Airport, and we had to change terminal to get to our other plane. My father and I now in the airport running, I had a Greek flag on my bag and around my neck, the flag was flying behind me. Everyone in the airport was turning and looking at us in disbelief! We finally got to the other gate and everyone had already boarded the plane, we were the last passengers on the plane! WE WERE OFF TO PORTUGAL!!! We got to Portugal and went to our hotel and had a rest. We went there on Friday and the match was on Sunday. My father, my uncle, my aunt and I were going round Lisbon always wearing only BLUE AND WHITE. Always holding a Greek flag! The day of the match I felt my heart pumping, and my blood flowing. I got nervous, VERY nervous. We were in the buses going to the stadium. We were going up a huge hill and still no stadium, we got to the top of the hill and just underneath we saw this huge stadium. Benfica's stadium. I remember walking in to the stadium and looking at the pitch from the Greece Fans curve. There must have been 10,000 Greece fans and about 50,000 Portugal fans. The moment of the National Anthem was a moment I will never forget, 10,000 Greeks shouting the famous National Anthem. The game was underway. My aunt had a cross that she would hold every match, and my uncle was wearing the t-shirt that he wore every match! At the corner my aunt kissed the cross and we were all watching over in anxiety. Basinas at the corner, the cross comes in and """"GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL"""". Everyone went crazy, we couldn't believe our eyes! I've never seen my father like that, he got up on the gates and was shouting!! The match was coming to an end and a fan ran in to the stadium, just to make us more nervous! The match was underway again and we were now playing the final minutes of the EURO 2004 final! Everyone was biting their nails! Then the moment everyone was waiting for, the final whistle. No one could believe what we were living! The match was over Greece were the Champions of Europe. While leaving the stadium a Portugal fan came up to me and asked me to exchange flags, and I did! I still have the Portugal flag at home! All the Greeks went out to the streets of Portugal, it was like a tsunami of people. Thousands of people in the streets of Portugal lighting flairs and jumping up and down! EVERYONE DRUNK!!
I was in the changing rooms a couple of years ago, at Promahonas football pitch ready to play my first ever match for Olympiacos. We were playing Digenis. I was young; if I'm not mistaken I was only 11 and playing for the Under 13's. I was the youngest in my team. The coach started announcing who the starting 11 was going to be, he was going down the team starting with the goalkeeper then the defenders then the midfielders and still my name had not been called. I then thought I would play my first match coming on as a substitute when the last name he called was mine! With the number 11 shirt, Attacking Midfielder Right, my favourite position. I don't remember much from that match but I do remember my goal! I was the shortest player on the pitch, and I was standing in the 6-yard box in between the two Central Defenders. I remember the ball coming in from the right and it was coming straight to my head. I jumped up and headed the ball and it went right in the top corner. The goalkeeper did not have a chance. I ran and opened my arms and all my team-mates came and started hugging me. The game had finished and we had won the game, I remember my coach coming and congratulating me for my appearance and my goal. After this game is when I was named a hot prospect for Olympiacos.
One day in Physical Education with Mr. Petros the class had come to an end and all the students were walking back to the changing rooms. A classmate of mine, Christo, was running in the middle of the courts quite fast! I was holding a tennis ball and I came up with the cunning idea to chuck it at Christo! I was at the gate of the courts and I threw the ball a bit in front of Christo because he was running. As the ball was in the air I turned and told Charlie: " Re Charla LOOK!!!!" and I turned round and BAAAAAM right on the head!!! Not a second passed by, I burst out laughing! Within the hour the WHOLE school found out about Christo getting hit with a tennis ball on the head!
