What does GMF do to us?
Refrences... www.earthportals.com/geneticfood Glogster.com www.raw-knowledge.com Google AUT website Publisher(But we don't think that counts...) www.geneticallymodifiedfoods.co.uk AND ANYTHING ELSE WE FORGOT!!! :-)
What are some side-effects of GMF? Key issues on side effects involve whether or not a GM food can provoke an allergic reaction in humans as well as how these foods can influence nutritional health. There are still unintended allergic consequences that can occur from the technology used to modify the food. The link between GMF and plant disease is a complicated one in that GM foods can be made to prevent plant disease but the potential also exists to start disease as well
Is GMF dangerous? Genetically engineered foods may contain genes derived from bacteria and viruses, which we may not know what could do to us. By modifying food, scientists transfer desirable qualities from one organism to another, for example, to make a crop resistant to germs or to make it worth more money. Bacteria in the modified genes could be harmful to us and/or make us sick, but at the moment, that is the only threat we could find.
What are some reasons for Modifing food? Some reasons for madifing food are... You could modify food to make your food grow faster, or to stop it from going off. It can also change what the food looks like, for example, it could be modified to look better (change the colour, size, or even scent!) this could make the food sell better than it normally would, which means more money for the provider. Another reason is to keep pests from destroying crops.
What ways is GMF helpful? GMF is helpful in some ways, they don’t need as many pesticides and herbicides to keep away unwanted pests. You can also spray weeds without damaging crops & can withstand any type of weather. Modifing food could also improve their nutrition which is a VERY good thing.
What IS GMF? GMF, or genetically modified food, is food that’s DNA has been tampered with to make it different to others, or injecting different DNA into the food to make it a cross between itself and the plant that’s DNA was injected. Modified food is food that is positively stronger than it’s normal self. You can modify food to make it resistant to pests, make it bigger, or to make it more nutritional
