Arch or Suspension Bridge, Last One Standing?
Science Fair Hypothesis Can a Suspension bridges in general hold more weight then an Arch bridges in general?
Procedures 1. first gather the materials needed. (glue, Popsicle sticks, scissors, string, and wights.) 2. Next start constructing your Arch and Suspension bridges. 3. After that construct a different type of Arch and Suspension bridge. Repeat this step one more time. 4. Then set a weight on top of each bridge and use a stop watch to time how long the bridge lasts with 8 pounds. 5. repeat steps 1-5 two more times. 6. Collect your data.

Purpose The purpose of this experiment is to see which of the two types of bridges have the most durability; suspension bridge or arch bridge?
Conclusion The results were not as expected. The arch bridge was the bridge that supported the most weight for a longer periode of time than the suspension bridge.
Abstract The purpose of this experiment was to see which of the two types of bridges have the most durability; suspension bridge or arch bridge? The Science Fair Hypothesis was to see if a Suspension bridge in general hold more weight then an Arch bridges in general? The constants were the Arch and Suspension bridges type one. The controls were the type ones of the two bridges. The variables in my experiment were type two of both the Arch and Suspension bridges. Dependent variable was measured by how much time the bridge lasted. The results of the experiment were that the Arch bridge type 2 lasted the longest with five pounds resting on top of it. Clearly the results didn't support my hypothesis because I thought that the suspension bridge would last the longest. In the future if I were to this experiment again then I might add more types of bridges and possibly more wieght.
Data the data gathered showed that the suspension bridge type 1 held 5 pounds for 1:47 seconds., and type 2 lasted 1:32. Then I tested the Ache bridge, When I tested type 1 it lasted for 1:43, then type 2 did the best a total of 2:13 seconds.
Results The Arch bridge type 2 lasted the longest with five pounds resting on top of it.
