Marriage and Kids: Lois is married to Harry Gibbs Lois has two kids, Michael and a daughter Melissa. Birth: Lois Gibbs was born on June 25, 1951 in Buffalo New York. Challenges: The New York state Department conducted various tests. The media and government became very skeptical of the results. Politians and Government agencies stood in her way and continuously confronted Lois. Many people were afraid of the residents of the Love Canal many people refused to speak with her because of this problem. Lois had to sacrifice her own personal life to help others that lived along the love canal. Early Interests: Lois was very interested in crafts as a child, Lois enjoyed sewing and making many things. Books & Movies Lois has written three books her first was Love Canal: My story written in 1982 her second was Dying from Toxin written in 1995 and he third was Love Canal: The Story Contiunues written in 1998.
