Greek Life: Sororities: Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Zeta Phi Beta, and Sigma Gamma Rho. Fraternities: Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, and Iota Phi Theta.
Location: Richmond, Virginia Enrollment: -Population: 1,481 -Males: About 60% of the total population which would be about 889 men. -Females: About 40% of the total population which would be about 592 women. When it was founded/History of the school: Virginia Union University was founded in 1865 as the Richmond Theological Institute, Virginia Union is the result of an 1899 merger of the Institute and Wayland Seminary in Washington. Later, Hartshorn Memorial College of Richmond and Storer College of Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia, merged with VUU to complete the union. Nickname/Mascot: Virginia Union’s mascot is the Panther.

Basis for selection: The school has an open admission. Deadline for enrollment: August 9th.

Things to do: Off of campus in the surrounding area of Richmmond you can visit the Pamplin Park Civil War Site, the Metro Richmond Zoo, the Edgar Allen Poe Museum, or the Black History Museum and Cultural Center. On campus there are many student organizations and events that those organizations host. You can also visit the campus dining services which change to meet your preference, they also have special events in which to attend.
