The Respiratory System
What really happens in your lungs? When the oxygen reaches your lungs through the bronchus it travels into the many brochioles. From there it goes into the alveolis that are surounded by capillaries. The capillaries allow gas exchange to occur between the blood and the lungs.
Now you know what it is ''How does it work?'' Well when you breathe, oxygen goes in through your nasal cavity and mouth, and passes via the pharynx and larynx to the trachea. Then once the oxygen has traveled down to the trachea it goes into either the right or left bronchus that leads to your right or left lung. There the process of respiration happens.
