-sharing needles. -getting pricked with a needle that has infected blood on it (hospital workers can get hepatitis C this way) -having sex with an infected person, especially if you or your partner has other sexually transmitted diseases -being born to a mom with hepatitis C
This is the classic symptom of hepatitis C. The yellow stuff you see is a bunch of chemicals in the bodys tissues. The liver usually thinks this chemical is a waste product, but when the liver is damaged from hepatitis it can not do its normal job and the chemical builds up in the blood and starts to leak out into body tissue(such as the eyes).

Even then, the symptoms usually come and go and are pretty mild. Unfortunately, by the time symptoms appear, the damage may be very really really serious.
