Popularity and Revenue Revenue is defined as the amount of money regularly coming in. The NFL made more than 6 million dollars in revenue in 2006, and the number will keep growing. (Isidore) The league makes most of their money through TV fees, advertising and admission. In fact, the NFL averages 68,000 fans per game, more than all three of the other professional league combined. (Hoovers) Only 7 games didn't sell out out of 256 games last year, and 222 million citizens, or nearly 3 in 4 Americans, watched pro football on TV last year. (Lopresti)
College Football College football is also an important part of American culture. It is the third most popular sports league in America, and it is not even professional! (More Popular than NBA) Colleges are spending millions of dollars to try to improve their teams and get more exposure and gain public interest.
