Albany plan of union-proposed that colonies unite to form a federal gov`t.
John Adams- argued that gov`t needed checks and balances to prevent any group in society from becoming strong enough to take away the rights of the minority

John Hancock- smuggler of molasses from French colonies in Caribbean
French and Indian war-The French and English fought for dominance in Europe sense the late 1600s fighting 3 major wars between 1600s and 1748.
