Lent
Ash Wednesday
Holy Week Consists of:
Palm Sunday
Good Friday
Maundy Thursday
Palm Sunday is when Jesus rode on a donkey to Jerusalem,, and the people who lived there laid palm leaves on the floor, and cheered when Jesus came through the town. Palm Sunday is important because in the old Testiment Zechariah said that the King will be riding on a donkey and everyone will be cheering. So Christians believe that Jesus was the true King
Maundy Thursday was the day of the Last Supper, where all the disciples had the last supper with Jesus before he was crucified. Also Jesus washed people's feet to show that everyone should be treated fairly and everyone has the same ranking.
On Good Friday Christians believe that Jesus was crucified on a cross. The day is called GOOD Friday because Christians believe that Jesus died so they could be forgiven and go up to Heaven.
Ash Wednesday is the first day Jesus went into the desert. Jesus stayed in the desert for 40 dayss and 40 nights without food. For Christians it's a time for saying sorry and they usally give up some thing they love, e.g chocolate
Lent is important for Christians because it's a time for saying sorry for the things they've done wrong. Also it's a time to focus on their relationship with God.
