Qualifications To Be President: 35yrs or older, Born in the US, Must have lived in the US for more than 14yrs. (If you meet all of these requirements, you can run for President)
Desired Qualifications: Male, White, Protestant Christian, Married, College Educated, Charismatic, Have donors give huge sums of money, have views that are broad enough to get support. (This is just what people normally expect from the President. This doesn't mean they HAVE to be these things.)
9-11 months before: Have party convention. (Determine which states to go after; Primary states or Caucus states)
1-2yrs before: Mentioned as being Presidential Caliber, set aside time to run, PACs, etc. (Candidate needs to have money in order to run and have support)
1-2 yrs before: Decide when to go public, determine strategy and themes. (Incombent=re-running & Challenger=running against)
Electoral College: (Monday after the second Wednesday in December. If it's a tie, the House of Reps decides.)
Election Day: (Tuesday after the first Monday)
Inauguration Day: (1793-1933; March 4th. 1933-Present; January 20)
