Drunk Driving: Killing hundreds
Hayden.M + Tyler.K
Drunk driving kills tens of thousands of people every year. It causes many familys hardships. Drunk driving is very dangerous for the people driving the car, but more importantly the people around them. The thing is that drunk driving is preventable and should not happen. Drinking and driving related injuries have dropped 28% in the last 25 years. Although drinking and driving is a serious problem, some people realize the dangers of this and are trying to fix this problem.
Did you know..... Half of all holiday driving fatalities are alcohol-related.
Did you know..... In 2003 about 1 in 135 drivers were arrested for DUI. Thats' about 1.4 million people.
Most people with DUIs are not alcoholics.
18-20 year olds are responsible for more than 10 percent of the drunken driving trips in America.
Australians call drunk driving "drink driving".
On average, someone in the U.S. is killed by a drunk driver every 40 minutes
Roughly three in every 10 Americans will be involved in an alcohol-related collision at some point in their life
Approximately 75% of fatal crashes occurring between midnight and 3 a.m. involve alcohol
Somewhere between 50% to 75% of drunk drivers who have their licenses suspended for DUI convictions continue to drive without a license.
Men are about twice as likely as women to drive under the influence of alcohol and to be involved in a fatal collision

This picture shows a car that was in a car crash that involved a drunk woman that hit this car head on. Both people in this accident were killed. These are the kind of things we need to try to prevent.
This picture shows a billboard that I think reminds people that if you are drinking you should not be driving because it could cause serious injuries or death. This should make people get designated drivers.
