Egg Drop Eggstravaganza By:Hayden Mundell
My egg lander consisted of a shoe box, packing peanuts, cotton balls, golf balls, and a plastic bag. What I did is I filled the shoe box with packing peanuts and put golf balls in the bottom to weigh it down.. Then I put cotton balls in a plastic bag and thats where my egg was secured in.
The Egg Drop Eggstravaganza is a great way to learn about momentum, impulse, and force. The goal for this project was to build an egg lander tthat stopped the egg from breaking by increasing the time of impact, which will let your egg have a safer landing.
My Egg Case
Did My EGG BREAK?!
My egg did not break because the packing peanuts took the initial impact of the landing. Then when those were completely compact the cotton balls inside the plastic bag took the impact of the rest of the collision. Since the packing peanuts increased the time of impact that decreased the force of impact. Everybodys egg drop had to be the same mass so they would end up having the same momentum.
This man was saved because of his seatbelt and the airbag. When hitting another object in a head-oncollision the airbag increases the time of impact with decreases the force applied to you
Another thing that increases the time of impact is the front end of the car also known as the crunch-zone. The longer the car crunches the less force of impact the occupants feel

What's an Egg Drop?
This video shows a physics class also doing an egg drop but froma a much higher drop. This physics class had to build an egg case that kept their eggs from breaking after a drop from a 3rd story roof. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6p96z5aBN0&feature=related
