'' 'Ah yes,' said Rose Mbikwa,...' a black kite. Which is, of course, not black but brown.' (1) ''Mr.Malike smiled. How many times he had heard Rose Mbikwa say those words?'' (1)
My prediction is that maybe Mr. Malik has a crush on Rose. I only get that feeling from this quote and the context. And as I read on there is other clues. This is the introduction of Mr. Malik and Rose.
''Almost every Tuesday for sixteen years, at half past eight rain or shine, Rose Mbikwa has pulled up outside the museum in her Peugeot 504 station wagon.'' (5)
