Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare about two young lovers. They belong to two very important families in Verona, Italy. Romeo is a Capulet and Juliet is a Montague. Capulets and Montagues are enemies.
Romeo and Juliet fall in love at first sight. They have to hide their passionate love and decide to marry in secret. The next day, Friar Laurence marries them. However, Romeo gets involved in a fight with the Montagues and has to leave the city.
Juliet's parents want her to marry Count Paris and Juliet, desperate, asks Friar Laurence for help. He gives her a drug which will get her into a death-like comma for forty two hours. He also sends a messenger to inform Romeo so that they can meet when she wakes up.The night before the wedding, Juliet takes the drug and her parents think she is dead and put her in a crypt. But the messenger does not get to Romeo and he believes that Juliet is really dead so he buys a poison to kill himself next to Juliet.
