French Indain war It wasn't until 1756 that war was officially declared between the French and British. French also turned over their claims of New Orleans and the lands west of the Mississippi to Spain, as compensationof 9,000 soldiers under General James Wolfe and a fleet of 20 ships were used and distoryed.In 1750, the war was started because of Land Disputes over the ohio River Valley. British and French representatives met in Paris and they tryed to talk things out. but it turned into a fight the war ended in 1763.

Proclamation of 1763 opened up a host of new opportunities for the colonists. The French had effectively harmed i British settlers and had, from the perspective of the settlers, played the indians against them.. Many Atlantic Ocean from the west or northwest were off-limits to the colonest. This excluded the rich Ohio Valley and all territory from the Ohio to the Mississippi rivers from setlement.
