. . . Victor with the creature and the Mariner with killing the albatross.
FRANKENSTEIN: T.R.o.t.A.M.: Shelley goes into much The Rime of the Ancient detail when Henry and Mariner describes the ocean, Victor are traveling water creatures, and the the European countryside. albatross. The main idea is the appreciation of nature.
Frankenstein is addicted to learning in his younger years, leading to the creation of the monster
The mariner is burdened by his knowledge because he must tell people such as the wedding guest. about his dreadful tale
Nature
Victor is constantly tormented by his ambition and guilt, becoming ill and disconnected from the world. His paranoia and unsociableness is most obvious when he is creating the monster. The Mariner is obviously very alone because eventually all his ship mates drop dead and he is left alive to be tormented.
Isolation . . .
Going too far
Knowledge
Both started innately good and pure, but the creature was pushed to his maliciousness and the albatross was simply shot down.
