The Golgi is made of overlapping membranous layers. It literally is like a cellular postman who sorts all the proteins and lipids before packaging them and sending them to different parts of the cell.
The Golgi is vital to cell function because it helps other organelles get the molecules they need to function.
The Golgi Apparatus is an organelle found in both animal and plant cells. Its job is to sort the Macro molecules and package them into vesicles for transport around the cell.
