The Okanagan area is a popular tourist destination for BCers as well as for out-of-towners. You can find scenic photos of this area almost anywhere... The photos I have here are some lesser-seen places and things taken from my own travels. Also included into the umbrella of "Sunny Okanagan" are my photos of the Similkameen area. The largest photo is of Osoyoos Lake taken from Hwy 3. Many people (myself included) favour wine touring, especially in the southern Okanagan. The "Golden Mile" portion of Hwy 97 begins at the Hwy 3 Jct and goes on up to Kelowna. Worth noting, is that there are also plenty of other excellent wineries north of Kelowna extending right up the road to Salmon Arm. What is especially nice about these wineries is that there have been fewer lineups of tourists waiting to taste and buy. If you are not into wine, this is a fab summer-sporting area (biking, camping, boating, hiking, etc) and a great place to stock up on lower priced (and tastier) orchard fruits.
