As the soldiers were going the city with Jesus, they forced a man from Cyrene, named Simon, 2 carry the cross 4 Jesus. They all came 2 the place called Goltha, which means the Place of the Skull. The soldiers gave Jesus wine mixed with gall to drink. He tasted the wine but refused 2 drink it. When the soldiers had crucified him, they threw lots 2 decide who would get his clothes. The soldiers sat there and continued watching him. They put a sign above Jesus head with a charge against him. It said: This is the king of the Jews. 2 robbers were crucified beside Jesus, 1 on the right , 1 on the left. People walked by and insulted Jesus and shook thier heads, saying, U said u could destroy the temple and build it again in 3 days. So save yourself! Come down from that cross if u really r the Son of Man! The leading prieste, and teachers of the law, and the Jewish elders were also making fun of Jesus. They said, He saved others but he can't save himself! He says he is the king of Israel! If he is the king, let him come down now from the cross. Then we will believe in him. He trusts in God so let God save him now, if God really wants him. Matthew 27:32-44 That evening a rich man named Joseph a follower of Jesus from the town of Armithea, came 2 Jeruselum. Joseph went 2 Pilate and asked 4 Jesus body. So Pilate gave orders 4 the soldiers 2 give it 2 Joseph. Then Joseph took the body and wrapped it in clean linen cloth. He put Jesus body in a new tomb which he had cut out of a wall of rock., and he rolled A very large stone 2 block the entrance of the tomb. Then Joseph went away. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting near the tomb. The next day, the day after Preperation Day, the leading priests and pharisees went 2 Pilate. They said, Sir, we remember that while that liar was still alive he said, After 3 days I will rise from the dead. So give the order 4 the tomb 2 be gaurded closely till the 3third day. Otherwise, his followers might come and steal the body and tell people that he has risen from the dead would b even worse than the first one. Pilate said, Take some soldiers and gaurd the tomb the best way u know. So they all went 2 the tomb and made it safe from thieves by sealing the stone in the entrance and putting soldiers there 2 gaurd it. Matthew 27:57-66 The day after the Sabbath day was the first day of the week. At dawn on the first day, Mary Magdaline and another women named Mary went 2 look at the tomb. At that time there was a strong Earthquake. An angel of the Lord came down from heaven, went 2 the tomb, and rolled the tomb away from the entrance. Then he sat on the stone. He was shining as bright as lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The soldiers gaurding the tomb shook with fear because of the angel, and they became like dead men. The angel said 2 the women, Don't b afraid. I know that u r looking 4 Jesus, who has been crucified. He is not here. He has risen from the dead as he said he would. Come and c the place where his body was. And go quickly and tell his followers, Jesus has risen from the dead. He is going into Galilee ahead of u and u will c him there. Then the angel said, Now I have told u. The women left the tomb quickly. They were afraid, but were also very happy. They ran 2 tell Jesus followers what had happened. Suddenly, Jesus met them and said, Greetings. The women came up 2 him, took hold of his feet, and worshipped him.Then Jesus said 2 them, Don't b afraid. Go and tell my followers 2 go on 2 Galilee, and they will c me there. While the women went 2 tell Jesus followers, some of the soldiers who had been gaurding the tomb went into the city 2 tell the leading priests everything that had happened. Then the priests met with the elders and made a plan.They paid the soldiers a large amount of money and said 2 them, Tell the people that Jesus followers came during the night and stole the body while y were asleep. If the governer hears about this, we will satisfy him and save u from trouble. So the soldiers kept the money and did as they were told. And that story is still told among th people even today. The eleven followers went 2 Galilee 2 the mountain where Jesus told them 2 go. On the mountain they saw Jesu and worshipped him, but some of them did not believe that it was really Jesus. Then Jesus came 2 them and said, All power on heaven and Earth is given to me. So go and make followers of all the people in the world. Baptize them in the name of the father and the son and the Holy Spirit. Teach them 2 obey everything that I have taught u, and I will b with u always, even until the end of this age. Mathew28:1-20
