The Earth is Fried!
In about 7.59 billion years the Earth will be engorged by the sun. In about a billion years the sun will get 10% brighter and our oceans will boil away. By then we will probably be gone to another planet. But if you were there you would expect the whole planet to be molten. Everything we created would be gone and melted. There is evidence that this may not happen! Anne Minard, from the National Geographic News, reported that a planet survived its star's red giant phase. This may give earth some hope.
