California Airports I sit in the airport. Waiting for a flight that does not exist. I think it’s heading to California, But I’m a couple years early. I see the other people, Who are ready for the flight. Luggage in one hand, Passports in the other. They’re lucky they can fly. I wait in the airport, For the day I can get on. Onto the flight that does exist, To come see you. I hope you’re waiting, In the airport, To find me coming from a plane, That will only exist when I’m ready. You wait in California, To see me approach you. My luggage in one hand, My passport in the other. When I’m finally ready, To board the plane, I realize its gone, And that I waited to long. You’ve left the airport, And you’ve stopped waiting, You’ve gotten on the plane, To come see me. You’re luggage in one hand, My hand in the other. ~ By KimAvenue
