~ On wedding day friends and family gathered at roman temples. ~ Brides wore a long white robe called a toga. ~ During the ceremony the couple exchanged gold rings which they wore on the ring finger of their left hand. ~ They also exchanged vows before a priest or senator. ~ Roman men were expected to provide for their new wives and future children.
~ Poor Romans oftan had several jobs including constuction work and selling goods in markets. ~ Wealthy Roman men held political positions. ~ Wealthy women ran the household. Many of these women had jobs too.
~ Roman kids were given bullas to wear as good luck charms. ~ Kids played with toy soldierss dolls and board games. ~ Only wealthy roman boys went to school. ~ Once kids reached a serin age the celebrated by wearing as and burning their toys and bullas.
