Jenny was born to run. Her parents claimed that she coud run before she could walk, so when they signed her up for a marathon supporting special shoes for kids at the Special Olymics, cool? Nu-huh! Jenny didn't want to run and she voiced her complaint often. 'It's next Saturday, deal with it' said her mother. 'Special Olympics, remeber?' said her father. ' I DON'T CARE!' said Jenny.
Saturday came by so fast that Jenny couldn't hardly beleive it. In the car ride Jenny felt dazed, as if this all was dream. It felt like only seconds had passed when she was on the hard paved track. 'Jeeeeeeeenny!' a unfamiliar voice called. Jenny whipped her head back and forth, where was the voice coming from? Where? 'Jeeeenny!' it called again. then Jenny spotted a girl in a wheelchair waving and holding a big poster saying: Jenny Rocks My Socks!. Jenny blinked and jogged over to where the girl was standing. 'Hi! I'm Matilda, I have to get some of those rnning sho so i can go to my sports therapy so that later I can be i the olympics!' she said, all chirpy. Jenny was stunned. She nodded and walked back to her spot. She felt rejuvinated. As if all the energy that she had lost before was in her now, and it was buzzing!
The anouncer said 'Ready, set, go!' and off Jenny went. Thi was the fastest Jenny went ever and she quicly saw herself passing all the other runners. The girl had made Jenny realize that if she just had some perseverence then this would all be different. This girl that was rooting for her out there had perseverence. She still tried even though all her doctors probably said that it was no use. That day Jenny won the race and decided that she wanted to get to know this hard working girl.
Perseverance!
