Mythology in Ancient Greece
Medusa was one of the 3 gorgon sisters and all three of them were feared by everyone.. Seriphos fell in love with a very beautiful woman named Danae but Seriphos hated Danae's son Perseus.. Perseus was then tricked by Polydectes into going o the deadly mission of bringing back Medusa's severed head.. Luckily Athena, Hermes and Three nympths. They gave him a shiny bronze shield, a sword that could not be bent by the sisters' scales, winged shoes so he could flly, a cap that makes him invisible, and a pouch to carry Medusa's head. To everybodies surprise Perseus returned with Medusa's head in a pouch and he used her head to turn Polydectes into stone. From that day on Perseus always carried Medusa's head on all of his battles so that he can turn his enemies into stone.

Some myths are used to explain the unexplainable. One day Zeus ordered Hephaestus to make him a duaghter out of clay. He was to name his daughter Pandora. After Pandora was completed he gave her to Epimetheus to get back at Epimetheus's brother Prometheus for giving the people fire without asking him first. When he gave Pandora to Epimetheus he gave her a small box with a large lock on it, and he told her not to open it, and to make sure of that he gave the key to Epimetheus. One night when Epimetheus was sleeping Pandora grabbed the key and opened the box. When she opened it every kind of disease and sickness, hate and envy, and all the bad things that no one yet new of came out. Epimetheus woke to Pandora's tears and asked her what happened and she told him everything. Then she opened the box again to see a little bug fly out.
