A Hot Day

“Oh my, isn’t the day hot today?” Asked a ripe tomato to a blushing red cherry. “Yes, dear, it sure is!” Replied the cherry, wiping the glistening sweat off its forehead. “Oh dear, here comes the banana!” Exclaimed a chubby looking pear. “I wonder what he’s going to do!” The gorgeous kiwi wondered. The yellow banana hopped up to the fruit, His hops not at all graceful, And screamed really loud, Right into their ears. “Ha ha, I can take off my coat but you can’t!” He said with glee. And right before their very eyes, He took off his yellow coat. All the fruit could do, Was to watch the banana with envy. Some even walked away despite the heat, While some just stood there like a statue.
