Under The Sky By: Sayaka Minami The blue of the sky we look up at is blinding It’s made us remember That important thing we’d forgotten A gentle breeze Blows through us again today As it picks up the stronger winds And heads to the other end of the skies
If we can find a continuation to our dreams, let’s set out right away We’ll hold our hands up in the sky and open the door to our hearts As we start walking to find tomorrow
I chose this poem because it feels fresh; the message is hopeful. The image of this poem is very beautiful. Although the poem doesn’t have a rhyme, its deep expressions penetrate readers. Poetic devices used in this poem are; personification (it picks up the stronger winds), assonance (heads, end) and alliteration (hold, hands and hearts).
This poem is actually made to a song. The Japanese J-Pop group BeforU sang this song.
