The Shrinking of Lake Chad
The dissapearance of Lake Chad has caused everything to suffer: the fishing industry, all farms in the area, livestock, and even daily life.
Lake Chad is shrinking because people are using the water for both farming and drinking water.
The dissapearance of Lake Chad has not only affected Chad, but Nigeria, Niger, Camaroon, and Chad. The above picture shows how dry the Lake Chad basin is.
Lake Chad recieves water from the Ngadda river. It is fresh water lake because there are no outlets to the sea or any other salt water.
The LCBC, or Lake Chad Basin Commission, is working on ways to preserve the 'world' that revoloves arouond this lake by having people conserve water, and other resources.
