Technology Bill of Rights
iPods have games like 'Solitaire' that help keep your brain active.
iPods should be allowed for use because some students concentrate better when listening to their favorite songs.
Students should be allowed to listen to their iPods because some songs can help inspire students for projects.
Students should be able to listen to their iPod after tests quizzes,or class work,so as not to disturb others by talking or by the temptation to talk.
Students should be able to use their cell phones in case of emergency (fire, etc).
Cell phones can be used for reminders, memos etc because most students dont like to carry around a planner. Calling a students name over the loudspeaker [intercom] can be embarrassing if for detention etc- a text could get them there faster and it would lessen embarrassment.
Some parents may not answer the phone when called by the school (because they may not know who it is),and may answer when their child calls on their cellphone.
Sites like Myspace and Facebook are allowed at home AND for those 13 years and older. If there is a particular reason the teacher still does not want to allow it in their classroom, they should instruct students on how to properly use the website. Use of these websites should only be used as a reward for good behavior, work, free time, etc.
*[Private] Blogging online makes for a great outlet for students who are stressed out at school and doesn't want to TALK about it to their friends, family, or teachers.
