Renewable Energy : Wind Power.
Although windpower produced 74,223 megawatts of energy by the end of 2006, today it still only produces 1% of the electricity used by the entire world.
This wind turbine in Denmark has a problem; it produces too much power from wind! Windpower produces 20% of all energy produced in Denmark. Which on windy days creates a problem. This fluctuation puts a strain on the electricity grid.
Windmills cannot function just anywhere. The best places to put windfarms are on open plains or shorelines, rounded hills, or mountain gaps that help wind funneling.
