Myth
After humans were planted on the earth, Apollo the sun god, loved a princess of Lapith, who would not accept his love. He paid her ardent attention nevertheless. When the princess, whose name was Coronis, found she was pregnant, she turned to her first love, an Arcadian youth. Apollos sister, Artemis, was enraged by this and killed Coronis. Asclepius was born in her death and was said to be the father of medicine. He profoundly observed his own birth and had an amazing ability in anatomy. Asclepius was so talented he could even raise the dead. Hades, god of the underworld, complained to Zues. He believed no more dead spirits would come to the underworld, so in turn he asked his brother to remove Asclepius. Zues murdered Asclepius with the thunderbolt the cyclopes had made him. Apollo was enraged at his sons murder so he murdered the cyclopes who were responsible for creating the thunderbolt. After Asclepius's death, Zeus placed his figure among the stars as the constellation Ophiuchus (serpent holder).
We are aware this myth did not include the cyclopes in a significant way, but we did are best.
