The Reproductive System is what keeps the survival of the human species growing, - to produce egg and sperm cells - to transport and sustain these cells - to nurture the developing offspring - to produce hormones
Functions
- Penis: male reproductive organ - Testicles: two glands that produce sperm cells and are inside a sac called the scrotum - Sperm moves through the sperm duct to mix with fluids from the seminal vesicles and prostate glands this mixture of sperm and other fluids are called semen
Female glands are inside the body - Ovary- females have 2 ovaries; which have a life time supply of eggs -during Puberty the ovaries begin to release one egg cell each month, from there the egg travles through the fallopian tubes to the uterus - in the uterus the egg cell can be fertilized by sperm if not then it will contnue down to the vagina and the female will have her period.
Estrogens - growth in breast - further the development of uterus and vagina -help pregnancy occur Progesterone - Target cells they can change the gene expression
