Standing on this ledge, Not knowing what to do, The rain is pourning down, But I'm still waiting here for you, I've been waiting for a while, And I still believe in you, I try to force a smile, So that maybe my dreams will come true, The rain is getting harder, I shiver from the cold, The sky is already darker, And waiting here for you, Is starting to get old, Our love used to burn, Something I could keep, You loved me in return, You used to sweep me off my feet, I knew where it was going, When I saw you with that girl, You tried to keep me from knowing, But I'm smarter than her, This ledge is where we meet, When we need to talk, But I can't see your car on the street, And I know you would never walk, I know the water is deep, If I jump it'll all be over, Cause your love isn't so sweet, And you're almost never sober, My knees start to bend, So I hold my breath, And I know this isn't the end, Because who said that the end was death?
