Plot This story is about a ten year-old girl called Sprig Ewing, a normal girl with a twelve year-old sister Dakota. 10 is her favourite number and this should be her best year ever but Dakota is all mature and always correcting her grammar all the time and when Dakota’s best friend’s around, she acts really mean. So she made a list-Ten Ways to Make My Sister Disappear. Many events happen in this story like Sprig’s Dad is away to Afghanistan, her neighbor is ill, her best friend broke up with her and the class bully is acting like as if he likes her…….
10 Ways to Make My Sister Disappear: 1. Dakota strps onto an ice floe in the Artartic... and drifts off. 2. Judge Judy sends her to the slammer for stealing my question. 3. If she were made of paper.... oh, so many choices! Clumple! Rumple! Tear and Toss! :) 4. Like smoke, she rises into the air, and, poooof...... 5. She's a cucumber, and I crunch her!* 6. I blink blink blink her into a watery puddle. 7. Bake her like a cookie! 8. Float her out to the ocean on a raft!!* 9. Put her in a hot air ballon and send it around the world! 10. Juice her like an orange and drink he down. .
I would really recommend this book to little brothers/sisters because this book can teach you that you big brother/ sister might be really irratating, acting all mature but its for to set an example. This book is in third person saying he/ she/ Sprig. The favourite moment in this story is when after Sprig save Miss Ruthie and Sprig went on TV.
Characters Sprig-Her name is actually Grace Blue Ewing but everybody calls her Sprig. She is a really sweet and like able person but also cries a lot when she is upset. Dakota-The second main character in this story. She is a mature teenager that is hated by her little sister. But actually all this correcting her grammar business is actually for being a role model to Sprig. Bliss- Best Friends with Sprig but got into a fight with her because of boys…that’s what I think what happened… Not much information about her in the book but she really likes math!! Russell Ezra-Evans- He kept on hitting and kicking Sprig but Bliss says he bullies Sprig because he likes her…. And he does. Bliss feels sorry for him because Russell is bigger than everyone else. Miss Ruthie- She is Sprig’s favourite neighbor. Miss Ruthie is a really nice elder. In the middle section of the book, Sprig saves Miss Ruthie. She also has a dog named Cora. She feels really close to Cora and sometimes talks to her about her problems like a diary.
