Fluorescent light bulbs Vs. Incandescent light bulbs
Light bulbs are used in everyday life. They are used in traffic lights, in your car, for signs and for many other things. They are more common than we think.
There are many jobs that have to do with light bulbs. There are the people who manufacture the light bulbs, the people who prepare them to be sold in stores. Also the people who sell them when the get to the stores. And people who use light bubls in there work. ex. people who make signs for other companies, or people who make trafic lights.
How light bulbs work! Fluorescent: There is a stream of electrons between the electrodes at both ends of the light bulb. Then the electrodes interact with the mercury vapor atoms inside the bulb. Then the atoms release photons of light in the ultrviolet region. Then these ultraviolet photons collide with the phospor, coating the inside of the bulb & producing light. Incandescent: This light bulb uses a filament, but becasue it is so thin it offers resistance to the electricity & then that causes heat. Then the filament is white hot and the white part produces light in the bulb. The problem is that the heat wastes alot of electricity,
An incandescent light blub produces 15 lumens per watt & fluorescent probuces 50-100 lumens per watt.
