Halong Bay is located in Quang Ninh province, Vietnam. The bay has about 1969 limestone karsts and isles, and some of them are hollow, providing humongous caves. There are around 220 species of fish and 450 kinds of mollusks living in the waters. It is approximately 1,553 square kilometres in size, and, like Veince, Italy, the isles suppport the villages and provide lots of lakes inside the limestone islands

Ha Long Bay, or Vinh Ha Long, means descending dragon(s) according to a myth: Long ago when Vietnam were fighting invaders from the north, the gods sent a family of dragons to help defend their land, and began spitting out jewels and jade, which turned into the various islands and islets, making a fortress against the invaders. The Dragon family fell so much in love with the land that they decided to remain on earth. The dragon family now supposedly make up the islands inside the bay.
