Trichinosis can occur when someone consumes raw meat, or not washed completely. Inside of the meat there is a worm inside that carries the disease. ------------->
The symptoms of this food borne illness are; stomach cramps, fever, muscle pain, swelling in and around eyes, and diarrhea.
This disease is mostly found in fox, walrus, wolf, bear, and pig meat.
Fun fact: there are 12-40 cases of trichinosis each year in the United States annually.
Trichinosis
Complications: Heart failure and pneumonia.
Prevention: cook meat until none of it is pink or red.
Trichinosis is spread with infected animal's flesh eaten by others.
