Like most families there is a brother and a sister. Julian Apaza was Gregoria Apaza's brother. Here is a bit about Julian....... Julian apaza was executed on November 15th of 1781. When a group of supporters attempted his rescue, his captors killed him, unleashing a full-on battle between the two countries.

Why we chose Gregoria Apaza? Our group chose gregoria apaza out of a couple of leaders, we searched indigenes leaders and picked out three leaders and chose one of them that sounded interesting and that we thought we could learn more about and began our study on Gregoria Apaza.

During the same period, a member of the Aymara people, Julin Apaza, took the name Tupac Katari, raised and lead an army of 40,000 people. He started a war to the city of La Paz on two occasions in 1781 .

The Battle...

The first war against La Paz In Chayanta, Kuraka Toms Katari led a war against local Spanish authorities and was imprisoned. The first battle of La Paz was broken by colonial troops.

About La Paz. La Paz is the Capital of Bolivia Gregoria'a country of nationality. The full name of La Paz isNuestra Seora de La Paz. The city of La Paz had a population of 789,585 which is a lot of people! Together with the neighboring cities of El Alto and Viacha, make the most populous urban area of Bolivia, with a total of over 16 million inhabitants.

Gregoria Apaza was an indigenous leader in 18th century Bolivia. . In 1781, she participated with her brother, Julian Apaza also know as Tupac Katari, in a major indigenous revolt against Spanish colonial rule in Bolivia. These Aymara leaders started a battle to the cities of La Paz and Sorata before being defeated and executed.
