4) The short term consequences of using this road to trade was possible death while making the harsh trip. and possibly not getting what item the item wanted or needed. The Long term effects were using the great goods that were traded on the route after returning home.
2) The conditions for the travelers were very harsh at some moments. It was common for corpses to be seen on the side of the road. Some terrains were very harsh to travel in like: the desert and the mountains. Sandstorms and de-hydration was common in the desert and in the mountain snowstorms and frostbite was very common. This all made trade very difficult but sometimes the journey was worth it to get the necessary items.
1) The Silk Road is a trade route that goes through most of Europe and Asia. The route is more than 4,000 miles long. The reason for this route was to be able to trade goods with other people to be able to get things that aren't grown in the area you are located which would hopefully help the economy all together with the new items being traded. Some of the items traded along the Silk road include: jewels, slaves, fabrics, medicine, and much more.
