Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade
1) The motive for this slave trade was to get slaves to work in this triangle trade of Americans, Europeans (some of Asia), and Africans. Slavery was already in Africa before this, and they supplied the Arab's needs for slaves until the Europeans came into the picture wanting slaves. So they raided Africa and kidnapped many people in order to get the slaves they want.

2) The conditions for the slaves on the boats while being transported were so brutal; only the strongest survived. Slaves were crammed on the bottom of the boat while on chains and sometimes they couldn't even move. The ones who looked weak and/ or sick were not fed food in order to not waste food on the people who probably would survive. People were tortured and killed by being abused too much or being drowned. because the conditions were so harsh, many people aboard the ships commited suicide because they were so unhappy.
3) America and Europe were not opposed of this slave trade because it would earn them more power and wealth while having to do less work. African kings were also not opposed of this strangely enough because this would earn them more money and popularity as well by giving up some people and they were very greedy to have a good life instead of thinking of the slaves that were most likely going to die when they were taken.
