NRA
The NRA's objctive is to protect the 2nd amendment in the bill of rights. They want to make sure we have ownership rights and they make sure it will never be taken away. They promote firearm safety, for newbies with a gun will be able to learn have to use it safely and correctly. They also want to protect hunters rights. Many lawmakers want to eliminate gun ownership, because it would help cut down on crimes. This is false and they are only trying to get your vote. Criminals would just find it in the black market. They probobally would look for nuclear weapons in north Korea. We have to defend ourselves even more now. So if a criminal comes into your house and he haves a nuclear powered gun and you have a little knife, im pretty sure you will be dead.
The NRA was established in 1871, It is one of the oldest standing civil rights organization in the U.S. The NRA is a non-profit organization and one of the most influential lobbying groups in America. It was founded by George Wood Wingate in New York. It was created to ''promote and encourage rifle shooting on a scientific basis''. its main purpose was to train, educate, and improve marksmanship. It didnt start lobbying until 1975 when hey felt someone needed to stop these shenanigans.
The NRA currently haves roughly 4 million members. One type of member is who strongly supports keeping the consitution of the United States intact. The other side is gun owners/ hunters. These are also their main targets, because they know everyone who haves a gun or likes to hunt wants to keep their gone and continue hunting.
The NRA haves been known for being the most powerfull lobbying organization here for the past 10yrs. Chris W. Cox is the NRA's cheif lobbyist since 2002. They stand for gun rights and always fight so we can carry a gun without any restrictions, which clearly states in the 2nd amendment. They are currently trying to get the guns back to their rightfull owners. After hurricane katrina, law enforcement took away all guns, and said we are going t take away all weapons. They are also after 3 scities with a gun ban, chicago, D.C. and San Francisco.
