Couplet: The Drake Relays are back, For someone to take home the plaque. Running, Jumping, Throwing, WIth the crowd overflowing. To watch this great feat, At this well known track meet. Everyone is up to the test, To see who is the best.
Limerick: We once used paper all the time, but now we can save man kind. Typing faster, Not making a disaster. Now there is no mountain to climb.
Haiku: Winter's back again, To bring joy to kids faces, but roads of terror
Symbolic Writing- Simile: Iowa has winters as bad as Antartica Metaphor: Drake Relays fans are a bunch of animals. Onomatopoeia: The computers make a click clack noise when your typing on them. Personification: The wind was howling crzily during the blizzard. Alliteration: Runner Rudy ran right past runner Rod ripping through red rope.
Iowa winter brings joy for kids because they get to sled and play in the snow with their friends! The roads are a disaster though with an average of 59 inches of snow a winter! So drive safe and have fun!
The Drake Relays have been around since 1909 and in 2010 it will be holding the U.S. Outdoor Track and Field Champinoships this summer. I advise you to come in watch and have a great time!
