Pol Pot and the KR wanted to rid the country of any foreingers,
as previously stated, the United Nations and the international community did not consider the Cambodian Massacure to fit the general statistics of a true genocide.
For example, Pol Pot was not killing people really for specific reasons, he started the massacure because he was trying to make a new country under communist rule. He wanted to rule a peasant farming country, therefor he wanted to rid the land of intellectuals.
