“One life is all we have and we live it as we believe in living it. But to sacrifice what you are and to live without belief, that is a fate more terrible than dying.”
Joan Of Arc
'In 1425. soon after the raid on Domremy something extraordinary began to happen to Joan she started to hear voices which seemed to belong to the long dead christian saints. These voices told Joan what to do. The more she listened to them, the more she was convinced that she was given a special task by God.'
Joan was courageous and had a mental and physical strength well beyond her years.
Even when she was being burnt at the stake she was still convinced that she acted according to God's commands. The Holy Spirit was there through her trial and burning, giving her the strength to carry on. She had great faith in God which helped her to continue following his voice.
'I'm not afraid i was born to do this'
She was baptised by a local parish priest soon after she was born.. Joan of Arc had an admirable sense of purpose and determination she was also simple, wise, pious and courageous.
Joan's friends teased her religion, most of them would rather be playing outdoors than praying.
Born in Domremy Frace 1412
Beatified in 1909
Burned at the Stake in Rouen, France 1431
Joan was especially religious. She liked to go to church, not only sundays but whenever she could get away from her work on the farm.
