Neurons are electrically excitable cells that process and transmit information by electrical and chemical signaling through synapses that connect with each other to form neural networks.
SENSORY NEURONS
INTERNEURONS
There are three major types; sensory neurons, motor neurons , and interneurons
MOTOR NEURONS
They are the core components of the CNS (along with the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral ganglia).
They come in a wide variety in shape, size, and electrical properties of neurons due to the diversity of functions performed by neurons in differents parts of the nervous system
respond to touch, sound, light and other stimuli affecting cells of the sensory organs that send signals to the spinal cord and brain
receive signals from the brain and spinal cord and cause muscle contraction and affect glands
connect neurons to other neurons within the same region of the brain and spinal cord
