I felt like I was floating, or flying, whichever. A breeze whipped my hair around while the monotonous sound of wingbeats filled my head. Wingbeats? I guess I was flying. Huh. My body was cold, but my face was warm due to someone who's heavy panting brushed my face. I wanted to open my eyes, but at the same time I didn't. I wanted to know who was breathing that familiar, sweet, irresistable scent on my face. But what if I'd died? What if it was an Angel taking me to Heaven? Or worse? Maybe it was a Demon taking me to Hell. I didn't want to be dead, I wanted Oliver... The wingbeats slowed, I felt the rapid decent, as we landed. Were we in Heaven, or Hell? Maybe I was just letting my imagination get too far from reality. My Angel, or that's what I hoped it was, set me down softly probably on the ground. I heard it sigh and it took off again. My eyes snapped open immediately, searching for my Angel who I knew was gone. So, I decided to do a self examination. I felt fine, all except my arm where I'd been shot. Even that had been cleaned thrououghly and was wrapped up tight. But if I still had the wound, then I wasn't dead. So who, or what, had carried me? Had it been a bird? A bat? No, the grip had been relatively human, but stronger. It would come back though, it wouldn't just dump me and run, would it? I had no way to find the answers to my questions but to wait. If it did come back, I could ask it; if it didn't, then I guess I was on my own. As I thought I laid back and looked at the sky. I expected to see my Angel come back, but I didn't even really know what I was looking for. Then out of the corner of my eye, I saw movement. I only moved my eyes to look. In an apple tree, something swung from branch to branch up in the reaches I couldn't even see. Suddenly it shot away through the trees, leaving a trail of apples. I jumped up and followed it. The last apple was at the edge of the forest. On the other side was a huge, stone wall. Over the wall I could just barely see the tip of a royal blue flag. There was someone to my right, next to the wall, twenty feet away. I heard thecrunch of an apple being eaten as I edged closer. It looked human, except for two, huge wings lying on the ground around it. It threw an apple core back and it hit me in the head. I gasped and fell backwards, spooking the creature. It thrust itself away from the ground in one beat of its massive, eight-foot long wings, sending it soaring. But it dove down towards me, reaching out with bone-white hands. I screamed and shielded my face with my arms, wishing the creature away. Though it didn't touch me, I could feel what it did emotionally without even looking at it. It was surprised, worried, confused,...and happy? Now I looked at it, to see its facial expression. Overall, it was terrified; but before I could study it too hard, it darted twenty feet away again. I didn't know what it was, I couldn't find any literal name for a human with wings. It was starting to scare me. I started to walk back towards it though, this time it didn't move. Well, at least until I stopped. Then it turned its face so I could see the profile, but not all of its face. When I took a step closer, it fled away again. When it came back, it swooped over me quickly, but not quick enough to hide the beautiful blue of its eyes. Then again, this time it hissed and bared two, razor-sharp fangs at me. I screamed again, but this time for Oliver. The creature froze. Now it stood ten feet away in the shadows, facing me. It had wind-blown black hair and sapphire blue eyes. He was gorgeous, and quite familiar. I gasped when he came from the shadows. He was Oliver.
