Olivia came in the next day with the cattle prod man. Luckily, she didn't notice Alice right off the bat. Instead, she stared in horror at the shattered glass on the floor from the window, they'd immediately replaced it. "Well, Oliver, it seems you're stronger than I imagined. Impressive," Olivia said. She opened the door and stepped inside. "Are you sure you feel safe around me?" I snarled. She shook her head like I'd done something wrong. "I've been trying to find you for as long as I can remember. Now that I've got you, that punk Alice won't ever get you back!" she replied. I saw Alice dart in the door and jump onto Olivia, sending them both to the floor. Alice started screaming at her, punching her, and making threats. So, I went over and pulled Alice into my arms, knowing her cover was blown. I kissed her once everyone was watching, then covered her ears as I screeched again. The glass shattered and everyone, except Alice, her mom, and I, dove to the floor in agony. I started running, slipping out the door and down a hall. But before I got too far, Alice yelled, "The book!" "Where is it?" I demanded. She pointed to our right, so I ran until we came to a locker room. The locker was locked, so I ripped the door from it's hinges. Alice grabbed the knapsack and I took off running, I could hear them chasing behind us now. As we crossed the hall, they shot at me, but missed my milimeters. I burst through the front doors, taking off as soon as I was outside. People all around us stared. We flew over a lush square. People were milling about, minding their own business. What really caught my eye was the huge statue in the center of all the greenery. The statue was of an angel taking off with a young girl. But the angel wasn't wearing a robe, it was wearing jeans and a T-shirt. And the girl wasn't upset that she was dead, she was laughing. "My Angel," Alice whispered, wrapping her arms around my neck. I landed on the waist-high wall surrounding the statue, people gave us a 16 foot berth. I looked at the statue again, examining it harder. The angel was happy too, he was smiling and holding the girl. His clothes were torn, and there was a dark mark on the statue's side showing through a hole in his shirt. It looked like a feather. I heard whispers from the crowd that had gathered. They all had one thing in common, a name, "The Fallen Angel." Releashing Alice, I stepped off the wall and walked over to a teenager in the crowd. He was scared, but refused to show it. "What's your name?" I asked him. He stuck his nose in the air bravely. "I'm Tyler," he replied carefully. He flinched when I set my right hand on his shoulder, but I ignored it. "Tyler," I started, "can you tell me why this statue was built and placed in the center of the city?" "Yes, it's The Fallen Angel, creator of new worlds. Earth has been destroyed and we pray every night that The Fallen Angel will return and rebuild our home," Tyler explained steadily. "Then what's with the girl?" I demanded. Tyler looked uneasily at Alice, then answered, "She's him, or the rest of him. They're inseperable because she promised him forever." I froze, but shot backwards when I heard Olivia. She was shouting at people to move, but they refused stubbornly. "I've got to save the world," I told Allice. "They're on our side." I unfurled my wings, shooting up into the air. Everyone watched, mystified, but soon returned to stopping Olivia. A single shot rang out across the square, there was a gasp from the crowd. I felt it a minute later. A sick, crippling pain in my shoulder. My wings stopped beating, and I fell towards the ground. At the last second I snapped my wings out and streamed right over the crowd's heads. I yanked the gun from Olivia's hands, knocking her over. The cattle prod man got my stomach, stunning me and making me fall. I hit the ground hard, doing a flip backwards. Someone helped me up, I handed them the gun. "Olivia," I called, "I deny being related to you. I don't care what anyone says." "Well guess what?" she retorted. "I don't either!" Olivia grabbed Luke's gun and aimed at me, but I was already gone. I soared across the sky, strategizing, but I didn't know what to do. I circled the square, trying to come up with something, but nothing. My shirt was soaked with blood, so I ripped it off and threw it on top of a building. My whole chest was covered with blood from my shoulder wound, I must've really looked like a Fallen Angel. But what was this Fallen Angel supposed to do about this Fallen World? Just make up a story that would magically re-create the entire world? Yeah, right. So, just to humor myself, I started telling a story. "Earth had been crippled, but so had it's savior. The Fallen Angel couldn't fight how he was now, so he healed." It hurt, but that's what ordered me to look at my wound as it healed itself. With me, anything's possible. I continued the story. "But that still wasn't enough. The Angel called up creatured from his homeworld, The Literal World, to help him. Barn Swallows and Tree Swallows, Chocolate Labs and Golden Retrievers, Quarter Horses and Paint horses; and they all protected the allies. "The Fallen Angel had finally risen to his power. He was indestructable." Suddenly I did feel stronger. I swooped down and landed in the square next to Alice to watch my new story unfold. Alice was watching the creatures and people alike, a look of disbelief on her face. "So, what do you think?" I asked her softly. She turned to me, surprised, then smiled. "How did you do this?" she asked me. "I'd tell you the story, but it's already happened," I teased her. Someone yelled at me, calling me over to a ring of allies. In the center was Olivia, Luke, and the cattle prodless guy. "Hi, guys." I smiled evilly. Revenge is a jerk, get over it.
